Food Commodities

Senior Food Program

The Senior Food Program is a federal program that provides monthly supplemental food packages to income-eligible senior citizens aged 60 and over. The Food Bank administers the program and distributes USDA-provided food every month in communities throughout Van Buren County.

How do I get them?

Each participant will need to call (866) 627-8904 for pickup location and date.  They will only need to call once.

What types of food are distributed?

Each participant receives one 30 pound box of food every month that is filled with a variety of nutritious food items. The box usually contains the following items: reduced-fat milk, instant non-fat milk, canned meats, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, cheese, rice, pasta, fruit juice and cereal.
